       LaNiece Mobley - Dancer, Teacher, Choreographer - Ballet, Tap, African


  

Starting her dance career at the age of 8 at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater where she received professional training on a 12 year full merit scholarship. Ms Mobley began teaching at the age of 17; her training has allowed her to tour world wide, places such as:

Aruba, Bahamas, California, Italy, London, St. Louse, and the list goes on. Ms. Mobley has also appeared in multiple music videos with well known artist..

 She  has also traveled with the Ringling Bro. Barnum and Bailey circus as a dancer and choreographer, touring numerous cities on the west coast.

Along with running her own dance studio "Culture's Closet" Ms. Mobley was a former featured dancer and rehearsal Director with the Forces of Nature Dance Theater for 15 years where she is currently a consultant to many of the dancers who are in the company. Ms Mobley is an instructor at the LaRocque Bey School Dance Theatre where she continues to spread her professional training to all students who attend her classes.

 Thomas Mitchell - Dancer Teacher Choreographer - Ballet-Modern-Jazz                                       
Thomas Mitchell began his dance
training at the age of 9. He has studied with Elliot Feld, Joffrey Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey and The LaRocque Bey School of Dance Theatre where he is currently an instructor.  

After graduating from LaGuardia High School of performing arts, he traveled and danced with the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre for 3 years.

Brother Jerome Hunter - Executive & Artisic Director

Brother Jerome Hunter is a master dancer, choreographer and drummer who has merged several dance disciplines such as traditional Africa dance, Brazil, Caribbean, as well as North America, to create a unique fusion that is synonymous with LaRocque Bey, and has been performing these dance styles for over 30 years.

 

Mr. Hunter has studied at the LaRocque Bey school of Dance Theatre for over two decades. He is currently the Executive and Artistic Director at the Institution. LaRocque Bey School of Dance was established in 1960 and is one of the oldest African American Cultural Institutions in New York State and across the United States.

Mr. Hunter has studied a multiple dance disciplines, such as:

African, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lindy Hip, Swing, Ball room, to name a few.

He has studied with Master teachers worldwide and performs domestically and internationally on stage productions and film.

Mr. Hunter has worked with such artist as Herold Melvin’s Bluenotes, Delfonics, Savion Glover, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, George Clinton, Phylicia Rashad and many more.

Mr. Hunter recently toured Great Britian as a choreographer and performer of the play

“Tap Fusion”with choreographers from the Broadway play River Dance. He is currently and instuctor at six private, and charter schools in the New York, New Jersey school system; teaching discipline through dance, spreading his cultural message as well as teaching skills for life to all students he comes in contact with.
