Thankfully The La Rocque Bey School of Dance Theatre Inc. has been a staple in the Harlem community for years. My daughter joined the school last year and clearly appreciates the art of dance all the more. With "Ms. Lala's" graceful and heartfelt technique and Brother Jeromes's fervor it is no wonder that the legacy of La Rocque Bey still thrives.

What a joy to see the wounderful website in memory of LaRocque. LaRocque was a BIG inspiration for me in my show
business career. I was the opening act at Smalls Paradise in the 80's. I did the Tina Turner act. Alfred the one leg
dancer, LaRocque laughed, talked and work on show routines. Thank you! for keeping up his legacy. Really miss
his great sense of humor. I now live in Washington, DC. If you can email me back.

As a college student, in the summer of '70, I recall working alongside the great, La Rocque Bey,. in a Neighborhood Youth Corps program, in the elementary school on 138th St. (bet. 5th & Lenox).
He was as gracious, as much as he was a warrior, for the cultural education of young people.
I am so glad that his legacy continues, as his warror Spirit endures.. I know he smiles from above!

I grew up in Harlem in the 60's and really enjoyed the performances at our annual block parties. LaRoicque Bey was a man after Gods own heart. If you desired to dance he made it possible. I am so happy that his school lives on. Keep up the good work and keep encouraging the children of Harlem. I'm a teacher in South Carolina now and would love to plan atrip for our students to come to your school. Please contact me if you think this is possible.

I went to see the LaRocque Bey performance yesterday afternoon at the Apollo Theater. Never in my life have I seen such wonderful dancing and drumming. I'm into drumming and dancing and I've never heard of LaRocque Bey. I'm 27 years old and I felt like a kid going home and talikng to my mom about him and she knew it all. I have a strong interest in joining the LaRocque Bey family. If someone can email me with information, that would be greatly appreciated.

It was a pleasure visiting your website. I grew up in Harlem in the 60's and the name LaRocque Bay is familiar to me and my family. My older sister was a member of Minisink. She and and several of her friends were visitors and students of the school. My mother wanted me to be part of the creative community in Harlem but as a boy, I was far too shy 
What missed opportunities we all mourn however it's a delight to know you are still continuing the legacy of LaRocque Bay.

Jerome, I am commending you for carrying on the legacy of what LaRocque started. You are the definate choice, as was chosen by LaRocque, to continue the development of hearts and minds of the youth in Harlem. One of my fondest memories of LaRocque was he never wavered from his commitment to the youth of Harlem even when faced with the preasure of financial gain if he would only move his school out of Harlem to downtown Manhattan where other cultural groups would take advantage of his teachings. Continue with the legacy of LaRocque and know that your name is also shinning bright amoung the stars of heaven. Peace and Love.

I love the Website! I enjoyed going back in time and seeing all those who have touch my life. Mr. La Rocque has truly touched my life in so many ways. I am so grateful for all he has done in my dance career what he has instilled in me is priceless!
